In time with the Lunar New Year and its gentle turning towards Spring, my friend Giusi and I are hosting a Hypnotherapy and Soundbath ONLINE event on February 22nd. We’ve wanted to create something together for a long time and can’t wait to bring this project to life! This immersive event will help to release old energies and patterns to make space for new opportunities in your life – perfect for those springtime energies! It’s been 6 years (to the date) since my last soundbath, and I’m really looking forward to some pure vocal channeling! I’ll share more about my experiences with Giusi’s Hypnotherapy work later, but for now, mark your calendars for February 22nd from 6-7:15pm (EST). Next, I have been asked to participate in “Songs for Gaza,” a benefit concert for Gaza relief efforts. When the conflict initially began, I actually envisioned a benefit concert with both Israeli and Palestinian musicians combined with delicious foods and artwork to showcase the rich cultures of the Middle East. I obviously never got around to organizing that event, but I am honored to be participating in this one, thanks to the Oakville Gaza Peace Group, the Canadian Palestinian Professional Foundation, and an initiative by Mervyn Russell. Proceeds from the concert will go to CPPF’s relief projects in Gaza (they will also make a short presentation at the concert itself). “Songs for Gaza” will be on Sunday, March 22nd from 3-5pm at St Paul’s United Church in Oakville. And to round out March, I’ll be raising my voice with the Etobicoke Centennial Choir in their concert “Sing it High, Swing it Low.” This concert features some of my favorite tunes from the Big Band era (give or take a few years), with hits made famous by Duke Ellington, the Andrews Sisters, and many more! We are thrilled to be joined by Juno Award-winning drummer Ernesto Cervini leading a top-class lineup of jazz musicians. “Sing it High, Swing it Low” will be on Saturday, March 28th from 7:30-9:00pm at the Humber Valley United Church in Etobicoke. |
